One Year Photos

One-year portrait sessions in Central Park are some of my favorites! After nearly 20 years of photographing little ones here, I know just how special this milestone is. That first birthday is such a big moment—not just for the baby, but for the whole family. They’re just starting to stand, maybe even taking their first wobbly steps, and I know some parents like to wait until they’re a little steadier. But as long as they can hold onto something, we can make it work!

Mornings are usually best at this age since they’re happiest after a good night’s sleep (and before any nap-time crankiness kicks in). Plus, the park is quieter, and the light is beautiful.

Many of my clients are visiting from out of town and want to make the most of their trip, so I keep booking simple and stress-free. All you have to do is show up, and I’ll take care of the rest!

Getting started

Booking your Family Portraits in the park.

1. Send me an email with the dates you’ll be in town
(plus, and any other info you’d like to shar, i.e. what you have in mind, where you’re staying etc.)

2. Once we find a date/time, I’ll email you a booking link to secure your spot.
(There is no deposit required. Cancel anytime if your plans change for any reason).

3.We’ll meet at the time and place we’ve decided on and the photos will be ready online in about 10-14 days.

General Questions

You can book your appointment anytime, most of my clients book at least a couple of months in advance, but I’ve worked with many short notice clients, some even reaching out the same week of their visit/shoot.

Whenever possible, sunset shoots are always better in terms of lighting… But at this age, I tend to find the mornings are better and there’s much less likelihood of a child being unhappy.

Some clients choose to bring a secondary outfit, that’s fine but we may have to change your baby in the middle of the park. Also, if you choose to include any props that’s totally fine with me (like balloons, a sign etc.)

Most of my Central Park sessions start by the Plaza Hotel and then head to Bethesda Fountain. I have many other locations in NYC that might be a better fit for your shoot, please reach out to discuss what you have in mind.

Your online gallery will be available online in about 2 weeks after your session. If your package includes any files those will be delivered digitally via Dropbox or something similar.

In case of rain I will do my best to reschedule you for another day during your visit (overcast days are great for shooting as long as it’s not actually raining).

Regardless of weather, if you need to postpone or cancel your session at any time that’s totally fine.. Just please be resourceful of my time and give me as much notice as possible. There is no deposit or cancellation fee.
